Meet Joseph

Joseph Griffith is consumed by the act of methodically blending the strange, the sacred, and the historical into an intermingling of visual pleasures.

With a catalog of work described as postmodern, surreal, and lowbrow, he works in a plethora of mediums, including traditional oils, acrylics, and clay, as well as digital, and regularly consults on commercial projects such as museum exhibits and video games. He is a regular contributor to the Montana Skatepark Association's annual charity auction and received awards for his work with British Design & Art Direction (D&AD), widely considered one of the most prestigious and difficult-to-win awards in design and advertising. His painting "The Surrender", in which George Washington rides a triceratops into battle, is the subject of art interpretation discussion in public schools across the United States.

Joseph Griffith has an MFA from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. His studio is located on the picturesque Chesapeake Bay in historic Phoebus, VA and is recognized as a Qualified Arts & Cultural Business.
