Signed and numbered by the artist, this second edition of The Surrender features the original artwork on high quality 18" x 24" ten-point text cover stock with a finishing layer of aqueous coating, providing a high gloss surface which protects the print from dirt, smudges, fingerprints, and scratches. All orders are shipped 1st class USPS in sturdy shipping tubes. This is a very common framing size; you will have no trouble finding a frame at a local retailer should you choose to mount it in your home, office, or houseboat.
History:
This piece was painted for the 225th anniversary of the Battle of Yorktown when George Washington and the Continentals trounced the British. The county would not dignify it with a response, however, George Washington's Mount Vernon estate kindly wrote me an e-mail saying they would "pass it along to the staff". (2006)
The Surrender: Edition II - The Surrender was originally printed as a signed and numbered limited edition run of 200 prints and sold out on August 20th, 2008. Since then there has been an incredible demand for these, so The Surrender has been reprinted as a unique second edition of 1000.
